Below, forty eight years on, we are still friends and attending the Class of ’62 Reunion at the Holiday Inn, Brentwood in 2008. This time Joy is on the left and I’m on the right.

Hi Valerie, Of course I remember you (and your grandmothers apple strudel!). I was married for 38 years, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, and now have a much younger partner. Life is good now. Am still working part-time, and live in Dagenham (although its almost Chadwell Heath) with my tabby cat. Am on Facebook. Be good to hear from you. Chris
I am now known as Val (hated my full name) Palmer-Smith. Been married 3 times. Have been with husband, Gordon (12 years my junior) for nearly 24 years. Didn’t want children preferred dogs. Lived in Sussex for 30 years and for the last 10 been living in West Wales. Much slower pace of life here and very friendly people. We run an internet business from home.
