I left school in 1970 and one year later married my husband Ernie. We have three children, two boys and a girl. My mother Audrey and all five of my brothers and sisters went to Mayfield School, as did my husband. My first job was working in the personnel department for Lloyds Bank in London. Since then I have helped my husband to run a number of companies acting as a company secretary.
Six years ago I returned to full time education and gained a 2-1 Hon degree in Behavioural Studies. I continue to work and study (diploma course) in the field of stress management and also attend our two company’s board meetings.
In sport I have represented Essex, and on one occasion England, at cross country running. When living and working in Florida I won the State Road Race Championship at 5 kilometres. I still work out most days. I don’t suppose that my husband will ever retire so it looks like I’m scheduled for a long career in my chosen profession.
