Sheila & Laurie
On the 2nd April, 2013 my old classmate Laurie Kingston sent me an email…
Just a quick line to let you know that Sheila and I will be getting married on the 20th April at our local Town Hall in San Miguel. It’s taken her 26 years to say yes (just kidding) we are both elated. Hope all well your end.
I replied with…
Great news, Laurie. Don’t forget to send me a wedding photo and I’ll add it to the site for you. My very best wishes to you both – Tony
Les Waters sister, Freda, here. I remember you, Laurie, have a photo of you, me and my mum. You look darn good for your age!! Congratulations to you and your bride.
Thanks for your comment, it was a terrific day last Saturday, took six months to get there and ten minutes for the ceremony, which we were able to get on video. How is Les? I remember the photo but he was in it too. Last time we met was at our friend George Baldry’s funeral in 2000. Hope he is OK. He was not too good back then. My very best wishes to you and your family. Laurie & Sheila
When I was at New Holland I had no idea you went to Mayfield.
Hope all is well and much happiness to you both.
Les is not so well these days I’m sad to say……
Hi Freda, have just read your response regarding your brother Les and his health problems. What you said made me feel sad too. I met Les at a party one night with his wife, it was so good to see him after such a long time, this was 1998. We tracked our old mate George down through the Police (George was retired police) and started getting together once a month. It was great but not for long, George died suddenly and the same year Sheila and I left for Spain. Please remember me to Les he has and will be in my thoughts. Laurie and Sheila
Thanks, Laurie, I will. Les suffers from Parkinson’s dementia and a myriad of other problems, but Barb takes very good care of him.
