I was a first-year pupil at Goodmayes Lane from September 1952 to July 1953. Our classroom was a wooden hut with a coal stove in the middle. You can imagine we were pretty cold all that winter. The girls moved to Christie Gardens after that into a brand new building, which was state of the art at the time. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers that time.

My memories of Mayfield are the windows of the boys classrooms, facing the girls playground, painted white so we could not see out; and the playing field that was out of bounds. I do have good memories of my class mates though, and would love to hear from anyone who can remember me. All the best from New Zealand.

I was a pupil (a very disaffected one who couldn’t wait to leave) from 1961 to 1966. The highlight of my years at Mayfield was a wonderful trip to Brunnen on Lake Lucerne in Switzerland in 1966. Christine, Patsy and her friend (Joy?) do you remember the trip? We travelled by sleeper train and stayed at a very sweet hotel on the lake. Love to hear from anyone on that trip.

If anyone remembers me drop me an email, would love to hear from you.
1958 Janet Coxall
I remember Miss Tappenden, our Headmistress, and teachers; Miss Forbes, Miss Strachan, Miss Gobby and Miss Richardson. I now live in France and would love to hear from anyone who remembers me.
1965 Gwen Hughes
I attended Mayfield Girls school from 1961 to 1965 and some of my friends were Susan Carpenter, Peggy Holmes, Linda Hatton and many more. Would be nice to hear from anyone who new me.
1976 Chris Stallard
I left Mayfield in 1976 when my family moved to Kent. There’s one particular pupil that made a distinct impression on me, someone I would love to trace but as yet have had no success. His name is David Hunt, he was a great friend to me at school. If anyone knows of his whereabouts, please get in touch with me.
1961 Denis Sellek
I met George Page at S.E.Tech after we left Mayfield. We were both in the print. Does anybody remember me? I was the one with bright ginger hair.
1961 Ann Grossman
Does anyone have a photo the day the school did the presentation to Miss Tappenden when she retired? I was the first year pupil who carried the tray of orange juice and biscuits to her when the school assembled outside.
